Handmade in Lancashire (North West England) by a Local Hornworker, AbbeyHorn
Our handmade, rough-hewn drinking mug is made from real cowhorn using the traditional method first employed in the medieval period. A slice of cow horn is taken to create a tube. The tube is then heated to straighten the sides and the mouth is shaped using a metal former. A horn base is then cut from a flat horn plate and attached to form a watertight base. These cups have only been given a light sanding and polish to leave a rustic uneven surface, which suits their traditional character.
Approximately 5 inches tall, it will hold roughly 300 ml or 10 ounces- Arrives in an AbbeyHorn gift box
Colors: Multi, mostly cream with blacks, browns, and grays (These cups are made of natural horn. Each cup looks slightly different and has its own character.)
