Solid Blackthorn with a copper colored metal bottom ferrule that wraps around the bottom circumference of the stick- Prominent knob-style/handle topÂ
Length, circumference, and grain vary per piece- Each is left natural with no stain and the thorn nubs are not removed- After being dipped in black paint, a shiny lacquer finish for protection and beauty is applied
Length varies per piece from 36 to 38 inches
(Traditional Blackthorn walking sticks were hung over a fire for months to cure and harden, the ash giving them a black color. They were then oiled. Shillelaghs were also used as a weapon to settle disputes in a gentlemanly manner.)
