A symbol of the Highlands, the stags on this large plaid brooch are fighting- With a Celtic knot and “key” pattern, it is inspired by the many examples of pictish carving, such as the Aberlemno Cross, the Hilton Stone, and the Cadboll Stone- Penannular style as were the original brooches worn in the time (Iron Age) of the Celts, but stationary with no moving parts- Cutouts allow for your plaid or shawl to show through when worn
Larger size plaid brooch is ideal for using at the shoulder to hold a fly plaid, ladies wrap, or shawl
Pewter brooch with metal stick and loop back closure- Penannular style, stationary with no moving pin or parts
