The scroll art on this brooch was inspired by the Battersea Shield, a Celtic Iron Age shield cover that was found in the Thames River in 1857- Penannular style as were the original brooches worn in the time of the Celts, but stationary with no moving parts- Cutouts allow for your plaid or shawl to show through when worn

Larger size plaid brooch is ideal for using at the shoulder to hold a fly plaid, ladies wrap, or shawl
